The theory of multiple intelligences (M.I.) by Dr. Howard Gardner (1983) has truly changed the way educators view students, teach, assess and communicate with their parents. Our school is currently using its philosophy to redesign the way it educates children, and help our students become successful!
If we truly are to prepare students to succeed in life, not just in school, we must recognize and value all of their intelligences. We must find ways for them to use different intelligences while learning, we must find ways for them to use different intelligences in showing what they understand, and must find ways to incorporate a variety of intelligences in our instruction.
School activity is one of the effective ways for students to use different intelligences and develop their different potentials. Therefore, our school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities.
1. After School Activities
There are various after school activity sessions throughout the school year and they are available to all students. After school activities include Drama, Choir, Visual arts , Road Safety Patrol, Girl Guides and Boy Scouts.
2. Extra-Curricular Activities
These programs are coordinated by individual companies within the school campus. The companies are regulated by the school and are asked to provide services on a yearly basis. The activities include Chinese Dance, Mini tennis, English Drama, Chess, and many others.
